Each recipient, selected through three intensive assessment rounds, received VND12 million in cash and training from Atoha Practical Project Management Institute valued at VND4.9 million, bringing the total value of AmCham Vietnam-HCMC’s scholarships this year to over VND1 billion.
In its 19th year, the AmCham Scholarship was offered to students from Foreign Trade University HCMC, Banking University of HCMC, Hoa Sen University, HCMC University of Technical Education, and Eastern International University.
The three-month long assessment process of the AmCham Scholarship 2019 included three rounds: application form screening, ability test, and interview in English.
All rounds were conducted with human resource specialists from AmCham member companies who volunteered their time to evaluate the applicants.
The scholarship assessment process was similar to the recruitment process at many multinational companies, which helped comprehensively evaluate the candidates’ abilities and equipped them with vital skills for entering a professional working environment.
The process was itself a learning opportunity for all students involved, and the scholarship recipients represented the promising future of talent development in Vietnam.
A total of 520 students submitted applications for the AmCham Scholarship 2019, from many majors, including economics, business, social science, science and technology.
