VOV.VN - The Hanoi People’s Committee held an opening ceremony on October 11 to inaugurate the overpass at the An Duong-Thanh Nien intersection.
The event was attended by Permanent Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee Truong Hoa Binh and Secretary of the Hanoi municipal Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai.
The construction of the flyover began back in December 2017 and the An Duong-Thanh Nien intersection is one of the eight key transport infrastructure projects designed to ease traffic congestion in Hanoi.
The Hanoi Traffic Project Management Board is the main investor into the project having spent a total of VND312 billion.
The overpass is made up of seven bridges in total and is 271 meters long and 10 meters wide.
The opening of the overpass at the An Duong-Thanh Nien intersection aims to reduce traffic congestion and to ease traffic flow going between Ba Dinh- a political center of Hanoi and Noi Bai International Airport through Nhat Tan Bridge.
In addition to this, the intersection will also help to reinforce dykes, prevent flooding, create beautiful scenery for urban areas, and overall contribute to improving the transport infrastructure of the capital city.
