VOV.VN -Police in Lang Son province have successfully broken up a major cross border drug trafficking ring, seizing a large quantity of heroin in the process.

Local police forces successfully caught 30-year-old Hoang Van Thuc red-handed as he was transporting five heroin cakes in a border area close to Na Han village, Tan Thanh commune, Van Lang district in Lang Son province.
Upon performing an arrest of the suspect, police forces were also able to seize a gun along with 18 bullets that were in Thuc’s possession.
With Thuc successfully arrested the police forces expanded the case and were able to arrest three other suspects. They were Luong Van Doan, 39, Dong Van Khiem, 49, and Nong Van Chuyen, 51, all of whom reside in Tan Thanh commune of Van Lang district.
After conducting a search of their residence, the Lang Son police force were able to confiscate four guns, more than 750 bullets, dozens of land use certificates, three cars, and other items which can be used as evidence in the case against the men.
Once at the police station, the suspects admitted to transporting over 100 cakes of heroin and a number of military-grade weapons across the border.
The police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the case.
