VOV.VN -Border guard joined efforts with police forces in Quang Binh province to bust a large-scale drug-trafficking ring operating out of Laos, arresting two suspects and seizing a large quantity of drugs in the process.
Police successfully caught two Vietnamese men red-handed at 14:00 on October 15 as they were in the process of illegally transporting drugs around the border area in Tan Dinh village, Hai Ninh commune, Quang Ninh district.
The suspects were later identified as Ha Hong Quan, 17, and Le Anh Tuan, 18, both of Dong Hoi City in Quang Binh province.
Upon performing a search of the scene, police successfully seized one kg of synthetic drugs, along with 130 pills, three mobile phones, and a four-seater car registered 73A 11966.
The arrests represent the largest ever drug trafficking ring busted by the provincial police.
A further investigation is now underway.
