Currently, localities throughout the region are racing to trace those who came into close contact with the five latest COVID-19 cases detected in the ancient town of Hoi An and Dai Loc district.
There is also a particular focus on zoning off affected areas, deploying compulsory quarantine measures, and taking test samples of suspected COVID-19 cases.
Dr. Vo Hong Hai, director of Dai Loc district’s medical centre, emphasised that after detecting positive COVID-19 cases, local authorities moved to transfer 257 people who had come into close contact with the cases into quarantine camps, with each individual’s test samples being immediately taken, while an additional 722 other cases must now self-isolate at home.
Local medical workers are regularly spraying disinfectant at the homes of the 722 cases that have self-quarantined, in addition to checking their body temperature twice a day in order to detect those with COVID-19 symptoms in a timely manner, he noted.
With Hoi An, a UNESCO-recognised World Heritage Site, implementing a social distancing order in line with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s Directive 16 from 0:00 on July 31, Quang Nam province continued to deploy social distancing measures across five localities including Dien Ban town and the districts of Dai Loc, Duy Xuyen, Que Son, and Thang Binh
