Vietnamese defender Doan Van Hau is one of five young stars set to shine in Group A of the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup, according to the website of the event, affsuzukicup.com.
Along with his club teammate at Hanoi FC, Nguyen Quang Hai, Hau is part of an exciting wave of young Vietnamese talent and is already an established senior international despite his tender years.
The 19-year-old has the attacking capabilities and defensive skills to star for one of the tournament favourites.
Hau competed in the FIFA U20 World Cup in the Republic of Korea last year. He was a key player of the Vietnam national U23 team in the AFC U23 Championship in China in January and in the Asian Games in Indonesia last month.
Besides Hau, the website also named striker Akhyar Rashid of Malaysia, midfielder Lwin Moe Aung of Myanmar, winger Bounphachan Bounkong of Laos and midfielder In Sodavid of Cambodia.
In the upcoming AFF Cup, Vietnam are in Group A with Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Malaysia.
Vietnam will meet Laos in Vientiane on November 8, Malaysia at Hanoi’s My Dinh Stadium on November 16, Myanmar in Yangon on November 20 and will take on Cambodia at Hanoi’s Hang Day Stadium on November 24.
